Biography

Brian Dunnigan, Lecturer, has taught composition, research tutorials, and literature at UMBC since the fall of 2003.

His academic interest rests with literature that examines the intersection of race, class, and gender. Brian’s pedagogical approach to teaching and writing includes an analysis of hierarchy and authority, while also encouraging students to engage the language of resistance and oppression. He has given numerous public lectures on the anti-authoritarian classroom as well as literature’s role in creating spaces of action-orientated social activism.
