Gifts to the English Department Program and Development Fund will help us continue to support Bartleby and other student publications and offer enrichment opportunities for students, such as a trip to an exhibit or performances. Your gift will also help us sustain faculty research and promote teaching innovation. For example:

We could help Bartleby publish on glossy paper and with color images.

We could hire a bus to send students to attend a play at the Folger Shakespeare Library or Center Stage.

We could support a group of faculty developing exciting new teaching methods using digital technology.

We could send a faculty member to perform crucial research in a distant archive.

You can make a one-time or recurring gift by visiting the giving site at http://www.umbc.edu/giving or for alumni at http://alumni.umbc.edu/support. Simply click on “Make a Gift” and write “English Department Program and Development Fund” in the “Other Designations” field. You will receive an immediate e-mail confirmation of your gift, followed by a thank you and receipt from UMBC within a few weeks, which you may use for tax purposes. Be assured that 100% of your gift will come to the English Department to help support its programs and development.
